Brian De Young is an accomplished chamber musician of broad skills and interests ranging from Renaissance and Baroque to tango and new classical music. He has performed with members of the Chicago, Grand Rapids, Saginaw Bay, South Dakota, and Sioux City Symphonies, as well as the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Lyra Baroque Orchestra, Opera Grand Rapids, and Opera Omaha.

Notable performances include the White Lake Chamber Music Festival, Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, Grand Rapids Symphony Bach Fest, and numerous concerts with various chamber groups in and around the Twin Cities.

Also a skilled bass-baritone, Brian has sung with the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus, Minnesota Renaissance Choir, Consortium Carissimi, Kantorei, and The Summer Singers. As a teacher, he has served on the faculties of Grand Valley State University and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in addition to teaching private lessons to award-winning piano and voice students. He is currently Organ Professor and Chapel Musician at Augsburg University in Minneapolis.

He lives in South Minneapolis with his partner Alena, daughters Nina and Elisabeth, and rescue mutt Copper.
